Techie-Breakie Session 3: So You've Taken a Photo - Now What???

It's fantastic we finally have a digital camera in each class, but now what? You've got the photos loaded onto the server, you may print some out and write stories but what else can you do?

Remember when you visit each link to save that site to your delicious!

Tip 1: Comic Life
We have done some work already on using Comic Life (on our pc's) and I'd like to send you to have a quick look at Jacqui Sharp's blog post on how to make a Comic Life into a slideshow. I really like the way that Jacqui has filtered the photos and am going to show you that in the next tip.
Tip 2: Befunky
This is a site that allows you to manipulate the photo. This is a great tool for giving the children some anonimity. I have made this small Jing on how to change a photo using this site.

Tip 3: Animoto
In the free version of this site, you can make a very funky automated movie of 12 of your pictures, music files are added and it puts it together for you.

Tip 4: Slideshare
Put up a powerpoint presentaion on the blog

Tip 5: Bubbleshare
Here you can make a rolling slide (like the middle/senior blogs have on them at the moment). Or just sharing photos - there are somecool background templates you can use also.
BubbleShare: Share photos - Play some Online Games.
Tip 6: Mixbooks
This site is really easy and step by step, I created this sample book and posted it to my blog all within 10 mins.
Mixbook - Create Beautiful Photo Books and Scrapbooks! | View Sample Photo Books | Create your own Photo Book

Tip 7: Jigsaws
You can upload a picture and make it into a jigsaw. Great for topic introductions (what are we going to study next?) or words or the week to put together, or from trips. The ideas are endless. Jacqui Sharp has a great tutorial on embedding them on her blog here.
